【PERSONAL PROFILE】

Dr. Julia Li Zhong graduated from Clinical medicine (West China University of Medicine, Sichuan University; Ph.D. in the University of Bath, Photobiology-Pharmacology, Oct. 2001). After the completion of postdoctoral research at Kings College of London & University of London. She first joined the University of Bath as RA2, 2006; then Chongqing University (Sept. 2009) to carry out teaching & research work. She has presided UVA-mediated cellular effects Projects supported National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC), Psoriasis study Projects supported by NSFC-Chongqing. She has published more than 50 papers in journals such as《Free Radical Biology &Medicine》；《Oxid Med Cell Longev.》, etc. Moreover, she has joint applied and obtained UVA-LED patents of inventions. She also as Invited speaker /host: ISUP & ESP (European Society of Photobiology) conference, 2019.8.27-9.2 Barcelona, Spain; ESP, 2017.8.27- Pisa, Italy; SKIN@Bath Symposium, 2019.12.11-12 Bath, UK;

Current courses taught by Dr. Julia Li Zhong include Experimental Cell Biology, Cell biology (in English); Clinical & Fundamental Medicine, Process in Life Science,  Process in Bioengineering, etc.

She has supervised 16 master students and 8 Ph.D. students.

【RESEARCH INTERESTS】

1. Photobiology. To study UVA radiation human skin cells and mouse model; Skin care (beauty products) & SPA medicine.

2. Clinical dermatology, UVA therapy and drug release: Iron chelation therapy.  Skin diseases such as psoriasis and cancer related research etc.
